Scrap N' Time

Well guys I have entered the world of competing. I joined fiskateer because they had a note about the group in my facebook group. I am enjoying it and the wealth of info. I am entering this post and picture into their color challenge.

I used a $1 cardboard journal from Michael's and all the products are from Michael's. Ribbon, stamps, and paint. I ripped off the cover which made me a little sad but the Martha Paint wouldn't stick or dry dark you could see the design. Then I put a layer of martha weather crackle effect on and after it dried I put more Martha Satin paint on Chamomile (the yellow) and Scottish Highlands (the green) And then I took out my acrylic alphabet stamps and stamped GBP. Stands for green bay packers.

THE CHALLENGE....

Any football team expired colors. So I think I made it.

Well this year was full of adventure and surprises. I have gained a lot of friends that are co-workers. This is a birthday card to one of my closest. He has been an ear when I need one and always lets me be me. This card came out perfect. So excited... to see what he thinks. Do boy's really care?

Where did the year go? I just got to thinking where did the time go? I've been working and scrapbooking. Now I'm in a christmas card bing. I just went to rummage and boy did I have fun. I needed sometime with my family. The rummage wasn't as awesome as it usually is. I did find something I've been meaning to buy. And today's card I mocked I changed the color and embossing folder. It's for my nephew. To me his favorite color will always be red. It was his 1st favorite color, everything had to be red.

I found something today at a rummage I have been looking for over 2 years. Creative Keepsake volume 2 at a local scrapbooking store rummage for just 3 dollars. And boy was it good. If I had more cash I would have gotten so much more. So I will be scrapbooking very soon. Possibly on Monday.... I did find to other books I've been waiting for. I've got to say I saved more then I spent. LOVE IT.

I am coming back. I have been working on samples and working a lot of hours these 2 weeks. I have also had family in town but I will be making some fun things these next few weeks and can't wait to show you. To tell you the truth I haven't seen a blog for 2-4 months. Tomorrow I have off. So just keep a look out for some postings. I can't wait. Well off to look at my class book incase I get to have the class. Can't wait it will be fun whenever I'll be able to next. It's managements decision. They want you to have 4 in a class. Everyone interest in learning scrapbooking run to your michael's and find out who the teacher is and when they are having it. I'm always flexible if you can't make it for one month ask them if they can have it when your available. Have them write the instructor a note.

I got a little side tracked. Next month I will do better. I made a couple pages and hope to post one with this. I've been teaching and trying to figure things out. If your interested in learning scrapbook and in Wisconsin come to Germantown Michael's. It's a fun hobby. In April it will be a night class 6-8 pm. I'm shotting for the Friday night depends if someone has the classroom that night.

My niece, what can a proud auntie say. I hope she doesn't change. I love all the pictures I have been getting now. Now I have to play fair and do some Luke pages. It's been a long 3 days. Saturday went by sis. Sunday worked, and went to Madison. Today I cleaned and put away stuff, and still tired from all the festivities. I just didn't have the Uff Da in me. Oh and I did a very bad sin today. I made my dad cut my Martha mat so I could have it be like a Score-Pal. I have the embossing board by Martha and I want a mt for it. I hated having it fall on my legs. Now it will be on my table all the time. YEAH!!! So this is a card I made by sis' house.

Sorry yesterday I got news I get to teach my class. YEAH!!! Sorry I was all nervous and thought I had to write word for word what I was going to say. Well today by noon I discovered I knew what I was talking about and to talk from me and act like my sis. My resolution is to act grown up and know when I can be goofy. So I decided to do scrapbooking pages, I actually did 4 but two of them are 2 page layout. I will show you today that one and the other two on wednesday and thursday bright and early at around 6 am.

They have left. I have been relaxing a bit and trying to get back into the wing of things. I recently bought a guillotine by tonic and bought a bunch of things in Madison. I swear we should go more often but between work and life who can shop that often.

This page is about my nephew too. He loves crafts and loves die cuts. So my mom, sister, and I went and bought all the dies we could for the cuttlebug kid and some for the sidekick. We had an extra sidekick and gave him that right away. While we went down for vacation I gave Cuttlebug kid to him since I found it on clearance and knew he'd love.

Well I've been busy and haven't really made a lot of cards. But I do have exciting news from Michael's. I am the Scrapbooking Crop teacher. I am so excited. I really do like it there. I am learning to talk to people and not worry what they say so much. Everyone is usually great and polite. The only thing that bothers me it is hard on the legs but they give you things to do so your not in one spot for too long. Well later today I will post some cards, I promise. Roughly after 9:30 central time. So if your in my area on the last friday of the month come sign up. In advance is great so I roughly know what to expect. If you spend 10 dollars we wave the price. Catching up

Sorry it has taken me so long to post. I have been working a storm of hours. Not that I mind. It means more to pay the bills then collect the bills like I do stamps. Also on my down time have been knitting scarves and making surprises for my co-workers. They love it and I get to sit and rest after work. The problem is in fact I miss making cards. And after christmas I've had such a mojo problem I haven't made any cards. Well I think I am going to try and finish my january cards this week but I have a lot to do to catch up with my scrapbooking. So here is to hope that all goes well the rest of the week. I hope I can pop on and show you what I am working on.

Well I have great news world... My Michael's job gave 2 things this week. Beginning of next month I will be a regular cashier. 2nd I am employee of the month. I am glad my boss likes me to notice me. I can be a problem child. I love Michael's and enjoy working there. I can always enjoy going to work there, I have meet great friends who I hope stay on.

And last but not LEAST!!! I am turning 30 this month. YEAH! And I plan to celebrate it. Well I will post a couple cards while I am here.

Sorry for now this all you get I don't know all the particulars. I got a lot of the supplies at Michael's. Even some stamps are from there. There are some whipper snapper, archiever's exclusive stamps too. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Well hello world! I am excited to say I got a job. And at my favorite place in the world. MICHAEL'S!!!! I am a cashier... The job is not at all easy, but everyone is nice and understanding, and will help if needed. Thank you to all the understanding customers, employees. I do have to say I enjoy working there, I just wish I was doing a little bit better at it.

Now as for my card today.... I made this card for the person who trained me. She is so nice to me. Thank you again.

Brother-in-law's b-day card

Well I am not much on surprises. This year I remembered a very old stamp I got for a card for my brother-in-laws birthday. I live near Whipper Snapper and I got this one in a dollar bin at the main store that sells them. Creative Pals. I say that it's my happy store. They don't mind questions, and I try not to embarrass my family when we go. I usually say my famous line "I've got a question..." I've got to say... I've got the greatest family in the world. I've been out of sorts with coming up with ideas for cards. My aunt, bless her heart for all she does for me. She inspires me to keep up my work with making cards. She always encourages me, even when I don't deserve. That is what my family does for me. She asked for some cards and I can't wait to give a bunch for her. I was kinda down because I almost have this years cards done except for the holiday's. Well I give her a birthday present every year so I may just add a bunch of homemade cards for her to give to her side of the family. I just hope she enjoy's them.

Well my new motto is make what you need. I love to make everyones sketches, and challenges. And since I have tons of free time on my hands. I thought better start making some and using things I have bought. Awhile ago I went to Scrapbook Expo in my county and found lots of treasures. I found Basic Grey's paper packs 6X6 Wisteria. LOVE it. Perfect for all the Anniversary card I want to make. I am trying to make cards for my whole family including uncle's, aunts, cousins for birthday's and occasions.

Well I am enjoying doing cards at Stamp TV. They are the greatest people around. They always comment and are nice as can be. If you have a question about the challenge they answer it right away. I so enjoy it there. Splitcoast is great but a lot of the time I don't get comments and get discouraged. It shouldn't be like that. So raise your hands and comment to people's cards. Even if you don't like it. It could just help them do better. My sister is just like that. Even though now she seeing I do a little bit better with praise by her. By the way she's BACK, but is taking a class for a week. Guess I'll have to find lots of challenges to participate on and maybe even fix my blog up a bit. So far I made 2 cards and went to Michael's & Joann's. Love the coupons this week. The cashier at our Joann let me use (2) 50% off coupons and a 40% off coupon. She said it was because they were slow but I think she was just being nice. She even let my mom go nuts with coupons. So I say go to this blog and print out coupons. She posts every week and give the coupons.

I had to make a second polished stone card for the fact if you make a card at stamp tv you have twice the chance to win a set of stamps. And I love the NEW stamps I just got from her. I am happy to say I live close enough to go to her store at least twice a year and we love her stuff so we order sometimes. Not as often as I'd like. With this card I used the last month's stamp kit's stamp Elegant Flowers. I just couldn't wait I had to buy it as soon as I could. I also used Technostamper sketch from last Sunday, if you'd like to see her site she's under Sketches. Well here is my card let me know what you think...

Well, my sister has been the lucky one at winning a GKD. So since she's been entering way more than I have been. And since she's going out of town, I want to impress my sister with the amount of cards I can do and maybe I will win. They are so nice at Stamp TV, with commenting and encouraging you to always try. I really can't wait to see what people think of this card.

Stamps: Whipper Snapper Designs ballon. Sentiment: Computer generated

Technique of the Week: Polished Stone, Colors I used Adirondack Mixative Silver, Adirondack Alchol Ink Stream, I even used a ink pad to ad a little navy Vivid!

Tools: Spellbinders Label One, Copic's, sponge daubers, ribbon, Spellbinder tags

Paper: Gina K's Navy Cardstock, 120 lb white for the ballon, and for the sentiment is from a pkg from Michael's

Father's day card

This card was inspired by my dad & I am going to use it for Father's Day. I worked very hard on it. My father cracks me up when he asks this. It's the way he says it that makes me jump and make it. My wonderful sister surprised me with the Popcorn guy stamp. She must have felt really guilty taking some of my SU ribbon I just got at a rummage. All I was looking for was a Thank You. Stamps: Stampendous Acrylic Set called Fun Food.

Paper: Bazzill Red, White from a michaels package, Brown from Creative Pals.

Circles: Mom cut out using a plastic storage container and a cutting knife. (brown)

Red Circle: Spellbinder (big) Ek Success 1 1/8" (small)

Tools: Quickutz popcorn, Sentiment (Computer), Colored with Copic's and Prismacolor's,

Well, with the help from my sis and mom I finally nipped my card in the bud. This is for my cousin. I always enjoy seeing a smile when she is seeing and enjoying my card.

Last draft sis. I can't believe I used my first page of my 6X6 paper of SU. It's one of those things where you like it so much you don't want to part with it.

Well I haven't said much in 2 weeks so I will catch you up. I went to Stamping & Scrapbooking Expo in Wisconsin and I WON!!!!! I won a $10 gift certificate for Designs Unlimited. With a little help from Terri, I picked out my stamps.

My sister choose the one on wood and I was looking for a holiday stamps so I choose one that had 2 on 1. YEAH! I did pay 5 dollars but it's well worth it for the 1st time I ever WON!!!!

For todays post I will share the card I made yesterday. Today was a very dull and boring day. Big couch potato day. I made this card for my brother, he's into golf and I wanted to enter a contest. I am starting to like contest. Click HERE for the sketch.

Stamp set: King of the Grill (Gina K's) Golf ball (whipper snappers) I used old designer paper. For the shapes I used Nestabilities. The ink is Golf bag, and golf ball (memento tuxedo black) Golf clubs (SU chocolate chip) Sentiment (Memento london fog). I used Gina K's idea and used Metallic Rub-on Paste for the sentiment.

Thanks for the sketch I was having troubles figuring out what to make for my brother card. Can't wait til tomorrow Lauren is making her decision on her blog design team.

Well my demonstrator and her friends had a rummage today. I had emailed her about the Spanish set and she had a English "Sense of time." So we just switched. She just the greatest. She always nice to me even when I am annoying. Well I found great things at that rummage and can't wait to share cards I make with my findings. I just love this season "Rummage weather" And I can't wait to see who has one next. Well I just wanted to post that my issue was resolved.

Well I got my order. Who would have known ...

I got the spanish version of "Sense of Time".

Now I know it wasn't my demonstrators fault for any of it. But can you do anything about it if you didn't know there was such a thing? When you do an online order they should have told you about that. We searched high and low for our demonstrator. She is the best in our state. At least that is my opinion. She is always nice even if I am annoying. Like my sister thinks of me at times. HELP Sarah! We made a mistake. The rest of the order is great. Well I will drop her a note see if there is anything I can do. I would give it to her to send back "It's mounted" I didn't see that it was spanish until I was going to put my label on. I say PUTZ moment on our count. Well if your reading "Is there anything I can do?"

Well I fell asleep last night watching Jon & Kate plus 8 last night. I love that show, there are so many funny things they do. Well I have been bad not posting these so I will show you what I made these last few days.

Yesterday

I made this for my cousins baby shower....

The stamps are Punch 3 (SU and it's the Oval) and Swirly Stars (Verve).

I used the Long Plain Rectangle from Spellbinders 3rd one in the Large

& the Large Long Scallop Rectangle (for the frame)

For the background I used Swiss Dots by Cuttlebug. Also if you ever wondered how to make them perfect...

1) run the cardstock threw a Xyron

2) Then cut off the extra leaving a little on.

3) Emboss

I used a sketch: PWC42. (Click on it and is a direct link to the blog)

I used Embrace Life (SU paper & stamp) Also I used PTI mixed messages. I used gem stickers, SU scallop border punch, Large Plain & Scallop nestabilities, And a rounder. Green Cardstock is SU, and Brown is from PaperCuts rummage.

I used Lovely as a tree (SU) & Birthday Basics (PTI). SU Mat Pack, VersaMagic ink, Brown Memento. Got the ideas from splitcoast featured stamper. Click on it and show exactly where I got the idea. It's not a dublicate but she gave me the idea. So I thought I'd give her credit.

TFL and Sorry for not posting yesterday night. Just sitting waiting for my SU order. I hate waiting so I did yard work with the folks today. They love it when I just help without being forced.

File flair box

For my sister's birthday I am buying her stamps. And what perfect way to give them, than in Lauren's File flair template.

I took the filed with flair base and cut down the back side and bottom to measure 1/2 inch. Then I scanned and enlarged it to 110% on my printer And used my sisters favorite color paper "brown" and matted it with cloud9design 12X12 paper called Chocolate swirl. Also for the matt I enlarged it to 100%. Well I love it and works perfectly.

Hope you enjoy my first idea for Lauren's templates.

Lauren's Sketch Admission

Well late last night I was reading an online friend's blog that she is letting people submit cards (using her sketches) for her sketch design team. She is a great person and was disappointed that I didn't know the first time so I jumped for joy this time. I love her sketches, and all the work she does. How she does everything I don't know? But I am so happy for her and the success she has. So let me get on with my three cards. I did one for each sketch. Just thought I just might get lucky if I do all three.

For the stamp I used Stampendous Cling Changito Coffee,

I cut him out with Large Plain Circle Spellbinder, I also matted it in blue bazill cardstock with the petitte scallop circle. The Green Cardstock was from Michael's the width of it is roughly 2". The DP is old and have used it in the past so you might find the name of it on my gallery on splitcoast or here on my blog. The black cardstock is Gina K. (My awesome sister bought it for me when she went to gina k's store. You have to love sisters when they do nice things.) I also used 2 black brads, and copic & prismacolor markers for coloring. The sentiment is computer generated and cut out with SU oval punches.

For this one I used Chatterbox DP, and Scrap paper cardstock. The stamp set is Papertrey's Wishing You. The ink is Ancient Page's Bordeaux, VersaMagic Spanish Olive, Papertrey's Vintage Cream.

Sketch Name: mytimess31

This is the same card. I just moved the bee's around. I couldn't decide which way I liked....

I used Bloomin Beautiful by SU. The DP is Basic Grey's, The cardstock is Bazill and scrap paper. I colored the stamped images in with Copic and Prismacolor. For this sketch I switced the sentiment with three boxes my idea didn't look right to me like the sketch because I cut out the word.
